November 14th – Unchanging

What You say, You will do.

Your word is true.

“Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see,”

Yet I know that You are more beautiful than I can imagine.

You satisfy our souls in every way.

You are utterly worthy of all praise.

Your sovereign hand holds the world and all that are in it, working all things for the good of Your children.

I hold to this by faith.

For now, it’s veiled by sight, weakness, sin, lies.

The mirages of the world’s empty pleasures allure.

The pain and evil and unanswered questions cast up doubt, smog the air.

But You remain, unchanged.

Your Word lasts, Your promise unaffected.

Like an anchor, steadfast.

For it finds it’s strength in You Yourself, the Amen, the Faithful and True.

You are God – You cannot lie.

So I take the shield – Faith – which You have given as defense against every flaming arrow.

Are You not good?

Are You not faithful?

Are You not worthy?

You are.

And some day, when at last I see Your face, I will know in full what now I know by faith.

Until then, I believe. Help my unbelief.

Thank You, Jesus, for Your unbreakable promises.
