November 4th – The Bindery

For the softness of leather and crisp edges of linen

For perfect covers and even stacks of paper

For parts and technicians

For understanding and wisdom

For ink that kept on printing

For supplies that came just in time

For long hours and tedium, teaching me to pray

For the hum of machinery and sweet songs to work by

For high blue ceilings, stained glass windows and hardwood floor

For big bookshelves, well-stocked

For Your faithfulness when they were bare

For mistakes, humbling

For tasks beyond my strength

For friendships, built and fought for and proved true

For answered prayers aplenty

For books, beautiful inside and out

For kingdom work, in a little corner of western New York

For letting me serve in the Lamplighter Bindery

Dear Lord, thank You with all of my heart.

Bless that bindery, Father, for Your kingdom’s sake –

And those who work there with endurance and overflowing joy.
