November 19th – Sleep

I’m thankful for sleep.

Our bodies are meant to need rest.

We are designed to be dependent.

We can’t do it all.

Though I’ve tried, many times.

My weakness reminds me – I’m not sufficient.

And I’m also thankful for sustaining grace when the work is much and the sleep is little.

His grace is sufficient.

And He does give good gifts to His children – sleep being one of them.

Despite my propensity to ignore it, I really am grateful for it.

“For so He giveth His beloved sleep.” – Psalm 127:2b

“I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.” – Psalm 4:8

Thank You for sleep, Lord, and that You Yourself are my rest.
